Get Involved

13th February - Holly's Birthday

15th-21st May 2023 - Mental Health Awareness Week

This year, the organisers of Mental Health Awareness Week, Mental Health Foundation have chosen the theme of 'anxiety'. 'Focusing on anxiety for this year's Mental Health Awareness Week will increase people's awareness and understanding of anxiety by providing information on the things that can help prevent it from becoming a problem. At the same time, we will keep up the pressure to demand change - making sure that improving mental health is a key priority for the government and society as a whole.'

10th September - World Suicide Prevention Day

A very important date for us, and the one that kicked off HollysPombombs in 2019.

This is a day we usually mark given its significance, and is an opportunity to help raise awareness of suicide and suicide prevention, promote action and show that recovery is possible.

We have finally been able to get together in real life to make pompoms, something we've been wanting to do for a couple of year. It was free and open for anyone to join, and was an opportunity to chat, make some pompoms and eat some yummy food. Last year, we were able to use Wildflower Kitchen, Cardiff to meet, and Lark Design Make's craft supplies, and had a really lovely natter while we crafted. This year, one of our lovely followers has organised a craft session at the Railway Gardens in Splott, Cardiff on Saturday 13th May, 1-4pm. Watch out for more craft sessions throughout the year, we hope to do more!

Pombombs can be all singing, all dancing, spectacular shows of colour on a busy town centre, or they can be a single pombomb on a tree down a quiet footpath. However, you'd like to get involved, we love it.
